Practices, policies and departmental procedures

Technical training

Soft skills
Soft skills training are also important to help employees develop essential skills such as time management, appraisal skills, customer service, skills, diversity and assertiveness skills. On the job training
Ongoing on-the- job training is very important to keep employees relevant with standards and requirements within the company and the industry at large. On the job training does not necessary need to be class room based but should not be overlooked. Many successful companies make it a vital part of their business management training plan to ensure that not only do employees learn and develop new skills but that they apply it on their everyday work.

In summary, training and development courses are very important. The courses however need to be tailored to fit the needs and operations of the organization to be effective. The focus should be on practical skills that would help the employee to carry out their daily activities effectively and efficiently. Training courses can only be said to have been successful when they are applied and have helped employees to perform better.
